400,000 Homeopaths in India

indiaThe India Post reports that both Ayurvedic and Homeopathic Medicine have gained tremendous growth in India. They also say that the World Health Organization states that over one billion people world wide use herbal medicines and alternatives. Many of those are in India which has a population of about 1.17 billion people.
There are over 400,000 registered homeopaths in the country currently, with approximately 13,000 more being added every year

Drug-resistant TB killed 150,000 in 2008

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Multiple drug-resistant tuberculosis killed 150,000 people in 2008 and infects between 400,000 and 500,000 people globally, according to World Health Organization estimates released on Thursday.

WHO said the numbers suggest the hard-to-treat infection is spreading and said there is an urgent need for countries to set up labs to fight it.


So-called MDR-TB is especially common in Russia, Tajikistan, China and India, WHO said in a report. It said an especially hard-to-treat form called extensively drug resistant TB or XDR-TB is also growing.

Early life

Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann was born in Meissen, Saxony. His father, along with many other family members, was a painter and designer of porcelain, for which the town of Meissen is famous.

As a young man, Hahnemann became proficient in a number of languages, including English, French, Italian, Greek and Latin. He eventually made a living as a translator and teacher of languages, gaining further proficiency in "Arabic, Syriac, Chaldaic and Hebrew".

World Medical Conference : AVIAN INFLUENZA: AND HOMEOPATHY?

swine flu symptomsThere are changes taking place in the international homeopathic medical community. The first WORLD MEDICAL CONFERENCE on the theme 'Homeopathy and Avian Influenza' took place in Paris on Saturday 19 November 2005.

This day was organised under the aegis of 5 international homeopathic medical associations the IFCH (International Foundation for Clinical Homeopathy), the RLHH (Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital), the ECH (European Council for Homeopathy), the AIH (American Institute of Homeopathy) and the IIHP (Indian Institut of Homoeopathic Physicians).

143 doctors representing over 25 nationalities were there, all with the same goal: to think about and put into practice all possible methods of care and assessment of homeopathy in terms of prevention and cure for Avian influenza. Several works will come out of these worthwhile discussions.
